    NULLA

NULLA video spectacle by Marek Pluciennik, from the play Deportation by Tomasz Gromadka. The first part of a series of three artworks. WHS Theatre Union, Helsinki 13.11.2019 6 min. trailer (total dur. 45 min.)

A video spectacle about being Nulla (Latin for not any) that explores the mindset of being trapped in an image created for immigrants, which deems them "not any" of "us". A study of how the current perception of immigration is fuelled by the projected fears of the so-called disenfranchised spectacle-society of the "west". The video is based on the personal experiences of political refugees and immigrants and draws upon related experiences of others living in similar conditions. The catalyst for this work was a short grotesque play titled Deportation was written by the Polish poet and writer Tomasz Gromadka.
